We are lucky to discover Madagascar, an authentic "natural" destination and the organisation of our programme gave us the occasion to discover at the beginning of our stay, its capital city Antananarivo! Tana as they call it - the gate to our stay on the road to the south - was a real discovery and is very attractive! Full of activities, this town has very interesting aspects of its magnificent country... Historical, natural and economic!
We particularly appreciated our visit of the town, with the Castle of the Queen in reconstruction dominating the town, the Castle of the Prime Minister and its reconstitutions of the different Malagasy residences! To complete the Royal register... Ambohimanga, 30 minutes away from the centre of Tana, its unimpeded view from the hill... All this was a real innovation to go back in time! A small lunch in a little guest house kept by Mrs. Anna... gave us a unique occasion to discover the Malagasy cuisine... because though the cuisine is often very good in Mada, they will offer more often European cuisine! Mrs. Anna talks about the history of her country with enthusiasm and offers you a treat for your stomach and mind... Very enriching discussion!
After this, our night at the Tsara Queen Lodge.... An original Basque house in Madagascar.... Superb and refined environment.... A high quality and very sympathetic welcome !
On our second day in the capital city, we discovered that Tana did not lack fauna and flora.... The Lemur Park... a superb park where many species of lemurs that we had seen closely lived freely... and the show was worth it...
Well of course like any good tourist we also had the occasion during this discovery of Tana to have a shopping treat.... The sellers are La Digue market offered us the opportunity to buy our souvenir gifts.... They must be more than 400... Though you do not have in mind to go back covered with gifts, you must go and see these "shops" lining a river on a hundred metres and discover Malagasy craftsmanship.... We are far from the souvenirs shops that I discovered during my different trips!!
